Summer.
The Kärnten Card is recommended, as a wide range of activities are available at reduced prices or for free. Among other things, the Gailtaler outdoor swimming pool 300 meters from the house is free with the Kärnten Karte.
The tourist tax that the Villach, Ossiacher See, and Faaker See region collects offers free access to a further large number of summer and fun activities.
The region is ideal for hiking and cycling – the Komoot app is a good help for orientation.
The many lakes in the region offer a variety of water sports – this starts at the bathing beach at Presseggersee and continues at the many lakes in the region.
Slovenia not only invites you to hike and have water fun on the Soča – kayaking, wild water rafting – the cheap and delicious cuisine of Slovenia is also just a short drive away. Ljubljana also invites you to take a day trip to one of the smallest but finest capitals in Europe.
Italy starts after a 15-minute drive from the house: Travisio with its market and small restaurants is a good day trip, but Venice is also a nice day trip at 2 hours and 15 minutes. A hike around Lago Fussini also presents a pleasant nature experience.
Winter.
Carinthia and South Tyrol offer access to 30 ski areas under the Topskipass! Nassfeld, one of the top 10 ski resorts in Austria, can be reached by ski bus in 25 minutes, but Gerlitzen and the border triangle also offer great alternatives. You can even cross the border in Tarvisio.
The cross-country ski trail in the village is ideal for cross-country skiing, and other tours are also possible in the ski areas.
The Weißensee has established itself as a mecca for ice skaters.
The warm baths in Villach offers a warm change with its sauna and bathing area.
